Monterey CoHousing Community
& Associates
Mission Statement
Conceived in faith that the final goals of the individual are in congruence with the final goals of the Monterey CoHousing Community is a cooperative organized under statute 308A of Minnesota Law.
The purpose of the cooperative is to provide housing for its members in the form of a CoHousing development along the lines of those described in Cohousing, a Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves by Kathryn McCamant and Charles Durrett and published in 1988 by Habitat Press, Berkeley, California.
Monterey CoHousing Community welcomes and encourages diversity of membership and intends to foster strong involvement of the residents in an inclusive community.
The Cooperative is committed, in as many ways possible, to following a participatory process based upon a consensus model of decision making.
Members are expected to share in both the rights and responsibilities of the governance of the community.
